More talented players are presented.
November 3, 2011 - Part 2 picks up where Part 1 left off, highlighting 94 Feet Basketball Showcase standouts. Juwan Strothers, 6’1”, 175 lb, Sr, guard, Westlake (MD) – Johnson C. Smith, Post Univ. and Shepherd have all expressed interest in Strothers, a top level backcourt finisher with eye-popping leaping ability. Juwan must focus on his handle and jumper to round out his game.
Juwan Strothers challenges Tracey Peal Tracey Peal, 6’5”, 230 lb, PG, forward, Rise Academy (PA) – Peal is a player that is smart and vocal, sort of a bedrock guy, presently transitioning to more of a small forward role from power forward. He rebounds, hits mid range shots and hustles. Defensive intensity can be improved, as can offensive footwork. Howard and NC Central have expressed interest. Chief Amoah, 5’10”, 175 lb, So, point guard, Edison (VA) – Penetrating and heady, Amoah is a competitor that loves to run a squad. Division III’s such as VA Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon have shown some interest in Amoah, who must work on his foot quickness. Marcus Brumsey, 5’10”, 160 lb, So, shooting guard, Edison (VA) – A quick scorer who slashes and puts the ball in the hole, Brumsey must improve his jumpshot for the next level. Division III’s have inquired.
Marcus Brumsey attacking the rim. Wayne Johnson, 6’3”, 225 lb, Jr, forward, Bishop McNamara (MD) – A power player with good footwork that is very comfortable with his back to the basket, Johnson understands as an undersized collegiate frontcourt player he must be able to hit jumpers past 15 feet. Leonard Livingston, 6’10”, 185 lb, Jr, forward, Patterson (MD) – Svelte to say the least, Livingston has to get stronger, to which he noted “I’ve been picking up the weights (lifting)”. He does have good overall skills, but must allow himself to play with more force. Seton Hall has shown much interest, while Virginia Tech and South Florida are sniffing; they all see the possibility of Livingston being, with work, a 6’10” small forward in college. Stephon Jiggetts, 6’1”, 200 lbs, Jr, guard,
Bishop McNamara (MD) – When on he’s a great shooter, one that
can release it from anywhere around the arc. Mount St. Mary’s, McDaniel,
Army, Goucher and others have expressed interest. Jiggetts must improve
his ball handling for college, as well as defensive focus, including communicating.
