Additionally, the commute from his home in Ashburn, VA, which he labeled “tough”, took some adjustment, as did Prep itself. “There is almost a country club feel, just being there” revealed Bond. After attending the school for a while, Aaron came to realize “there are a lot of good people there”, and as such doesn’t regret enrolling in Georgetown Prep after his sophomore year in high school.

One of those good people at Prep, is head boys basketball coach, Dwayne Bryant. Starting his eighth year at the school, Bryant is a well-known figure on the school’s campus, who not only coaches hoops, but functions as a mentor to many students while also operating as Prep’s Assistant Director for the Annual Fund for Alumni Giving.

Dwayne Bryant (kneeling), in addition to Bond's father Tony, have been instrumental in the young guy's hoops and personal development. Bond (#22) and the rest of Prep's team are shown here during last year's IAC championship game.

“He’s definitely helped me” said Aaron, of Bryant. “He and I are really different players (Bryant was a high school All-American point guard who starred at Georgetown University). He has helped me see the game from a different perspective. I’m more of a creator now”.

Bryant, in addition to adding “American, Vermont, William and Mary, St. Bonnaventure”, as well as Colgate, Furman, and Virginia to the schools recruiting Bond to varying degrees, praised the young man on and off the court. “As a basketball player he is a coach’s dream” said Bryant. “He has done whatever I have asked him to do. As a sophomore he played off the ball as more of a 3 (small forward) and 4 (power forward) because of our lack of height then. Aaron moved to the 1 last year and we finished with a 21-4 record. He is one of the most underrated players in the (D.C) area in my opinion”.

Prep’s coach was equally effusive regarding Bond the person: “Aaron is one of the best people I know. Forget about basketball, one of this kid’s goals in life is to be a minister. He has organized community service opportunities for our team working with the homeless. Aaron is a 97 or straight ‘A’ student and he scored somewhere in the neighborhood of about 1900 on the SAT's using the new scale. He is truly and unbelievable person”.

Regarding being a future minister, Bond simply said “I’ve just grown up in the church”. These early experiences at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Ashburn allowed him “From an early age, to see the impact of God” in his life.

As shown above, the future is bright for Aaron Bond. Not only does he have a large of number of schools presently recruiting him, but hopes to aid other people during his life’s journey. Check back with i95Ballerz.com for Bond’s final decision. A school is going to be pleased for years, he accepted their grant-in-aid.
