September 8, 2006 – True to previous comments reported by i95Ballerz.com, Georgetown Prep’s senior guard Aaron Bond has chosen his college this month. Reached yesterday via telephone, Bond shared “I’m going to Davidson (College)”. Apparently, the thought of being a Wildcat always held a level of appeal. “Just from day one, I thought a little piece of home was there” he said. As such, he “decided not to wait any longer, and lock it up”.
According to Bond, he is anticipating playing shooting guard for Davidson in 2007. Additionally, Bond admitted that the Davidson, North Carolina-based institution’s schedule “Definitely” impacted his decision – with annual contests with Duke and North Carolina being attractive – as did access to religious groups on campus. The latter is important, given Aaron’s desire to become a minister. Though not a religious school so-to-speak, Bond stated “It has religion on campus”. That aspect of the school’s campus life was reinforced by friends of his family, themselves Davidson alumnae. Bond’s coach at Prep, Dwayne Bryant was supportive of his guard’s choice. “Aaron Bond visited a number of schools” he said. “It jut came down to finding the right fit. I’m happy for him”. In Bryant’s mind, the process centered rightfully centered on “where he wanted to be”, as “It’s his decision”. Consequently, Bryant’s role was to advise the Bonds family, and facilitate their wishes. Previously, Aaron mentioned his parents Tony and Tammie, along with sister Amber form a close family unit. Attending school in Davidson, North Carolina will not hamper that connection, as he opined “My family is going to be with me wherever I go”. Furthermore, he has an uncle in Charlotte, NC, so there will not be a total familial void while in school. We at i95Ballerz.com would like to recognize this momentous occurrence
in Aaron Bond’s life. Through hard work, both on the hardwood and
in the classroom, he has secured a college scholarship, and will sign
a letter of intent in November. That’s what it’s all about.
