ASSIST's event boasted solid young talent.

October 1, 2010 - Last month's ASSIST Showcase provided exposure for a number of boys and girls players. The event's director, William Carter, penned a list of the guys here. Ladies were published previously.

Brandon Jackson - Theodore Roosevelt High School, 5 foot 11, senior PG - Jackson is a pg who can distribute the ball very well. He's very quick on the offensive end with his ability to create for others. He can knock the open shot and has a high IQ of the game.

Darico Proutt - South Hagerstown (MD), 6 foot 5 senior, sf/pf - Has a high IQ of the game and is a great offensive and defensive rebounder of the game. Has great foot work in the post and knows how to kick the ball out to others when doubled.

The ASSIST Fall Mid-Atlantic Showcase male contingent.

Calvin Burks - Hedgville High School, WV, 6 foot freshman - Only a freshman but stood out against juniors and seniors. Has the ability to see the floor and also can penetrate to the rack with ease. Knows how to score in bunches and create for teammates with high IQ of the game. He will be making noise on Hedgeville's varsity this year. Hard worker.

Jalen Lewis - WV, 6 foot Sophomore, - His individual stock rose at the Showcase with his understanding of the game, willingness to defend and also knowledge of how to score; whether it is knocking down the open jump shot or going to the rack. Great rebounding guard.

Daryl Sanders - Frederick High School, MD, 6 foot one - Daryl plays hard on every possession on the court. He's relentless on the boards, particularly being only being 6 foot 1; plays like he's 6 foot 5.
