August 28, 2007 - As a component of i95Ballerz.com’s Back to School Showcase coverage, following are All-Star team selections for the 15 through 17 and under age groupings.

17 and under MVP: Jonathan Wall – D-One Sports - To say Wall did his thing is an understatement; to use the vernacular of the young, he ‘fried’. Standing around 6’2” and weighing 175 pounds, Wall get to the rim virtually at will while always being under control, with the passes being delivered in both ordinary and fantastic fashion. Wall was the consummate floor leader, who also played through debilitating cramps. Though his jumper is not yet a strength, he did sink a number of attempts. Crowds gathered when he played.

17 and under All Stars:

1) Gus Gilchrist – Hoop Magic (VA) - Muscular 6’9” plus senior forward attacked the rim and showed improved perimeter skills
2) Ryan Kelly – D-One Sports (NC) – Slender 6’9” junior forward displayed great midrange skills, as well as the ability to handle the ball, rebound, and fill lanes.

3) Darryl Traynham – DC Assault – As a 5’9” point guard, Traynham once again displayed transition offense skills way beyond that of most sophomores, as he got to the rim to generate buckets and fouls, or found open teammates.
4) Rodney McGruder – DC Assault – Athletic 6’5” junior forward who not only attacked the rim, but hit long jumpers, defended, and rebounded.

5) Maurice ‘Mo’ Creek – Triple Threat (DC) – Standing 6’3” with long arms, Creek, a junior, continued to show his work developing all-around court skills is paying dividends, as he not only shot the ball from deep, but attacked the rim, passed, rebounded, and defended.
6) Ty Walker – Kappa Magic (NC) – The svelte 6’11”, athletic center didn’t dominate like many expected, but he was still very effective blocking shots, filling lanes, and operating around the cup.

7) Lasan Kromah – Triple Threat (DC) – Up and coming 6’3” junior guard showed he can play, as he’s an all around performer that can shoot, drive, and defend.

17 and Under Second Team:

1) Delonte ‘Big 50’ Boyd – Triple Threat – Undersized junior center did work, despite an injured knee.
2) Carter Cook - Kappa Magic – Heady senior shooter just flat makes plays.

3) Delonte ‘Bishop’ Daniels - D-One Sports – Incoming freshman guard ‘banged’ several times, while showing he will be the next D-One standout.
4) Erick Green – Triple Threat – Slashing guard continues to impress.
5) Kevin ‘Jo-Jo’ Jones – DC Assault – Junior frontcourt man does all the little things that create wins.
