Hoop Magic’s Back to School Showcase Serves as Season Finale

August 6, 2007 – For those in the Washington, D.C. area, Hoop Magic Sports Academy will be the place to be in late August, as that facility will host its Back to School Showcase. This youth travel team competition, in which boys in the 17 and under through 13 and under age groupings will battle, is scheduled for August 24th-26th, and will provide players, coaches, and observers alike the chance to see some of the best high school-aged hoops talent in the land.

According to Arize Ifejika, Hoop Magic’s Tournament Director, teams that have committed to participate include, Boo Williams (VA), Crusader Nation (MD), DC Assault (DC), Hoop Magic (VA), Kappa Magic (NC), Richmond Squires (VA), Triple Threat (DC), and others. Organizations from as far as California and Illinois have expressed strong interest in competing.

Curtis Symonds brings an impressive blend of professional management experience and hoops acumen to the Hoops Magic Back to School Showcase. Arize Ifejika, the event’s Director, augments Symonds well.

According to Ifejika, the Showcase will draw upon a wealth of experience, thereby ensuring a professional environment, efficient production, and a positive, good time by all. “The combination of Curtis Symonds (Hoop Magic Sports Academy Founder, COO of the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, and long time tournament producer) and myself (a former tournament professional with the nationally recognized Hoop Group organization), will ensure the successful production of this tournament and others” he noted. “We have experience, a great facility, and connections”.
