Speaking of Events: Hoop Magic’s event portfolio is becoming impressive, as the organization, headed by Curtis Symonds, has hosted not only youth grassroots tournaments, but also youth/adult leagues, skill instruction, camps, sports and fitness training, coaching clinics, team practices, and high school competition.
Team Takeover's 15u squad stepped in for the organization's 16u crew to win the chip. October 29-31st of this year, high school play is merged with grassroots action, via the Hoop Magic Fall Jamboree - Both travel team and school squads can enter the tournament, which will serve an excellent primer for the then burgeoning high school season. Pertinent information is available here. Coaches, enter your team, and fans, come out and support the players. You can’t beat it for value and hoops provided. to School Showcase, September 12th and 13th. Champions: 17u Gold- Team Takeover defeated East Coast Elite 61-60, after the latter walked off the floor protesting several referee decisions. Sad way to end a great game. 16u Gold - Team Takeover beat JB Hoops 63-55. This team, comprised of 15u players, stepped into the shoes of the primary squad on Championship Day.
