Two hoops hubs set to do battle.
August 2, 2011 – Miles Rawls, Director of the Goodman League has long been involved in summer league basketball, helping to propel Goodman or ‘Barry Farms’, as it’s known to national prominence. Many around the country recognize it for what it is; one of the best outdoor, summertime, professional-level hoops confabs in the nation, held right here in Washington, D.C. As to be expected, he’s also a great supporter of D.C. hoop supporter, believing this area is like no other in terms of talent, up and down the hoops spectrum.
Well, his Goodman League All-Stars will have an opportunity to prove
this area’s basketball standing, via Capital Punishment,
an East Coast vs West Coast game being held Saturday, August 20th at Trinity
University (125 Michigan Ave, WDC). Goodman’s foes will be none
other than a collection of Drew League vets, guys that do work in that
Los Angeles, California event. Why have the game? “These are in my estimation the two best summertime leagues in
America” opined Rawls, known for not only organizing the Goodman
League but calling all the games in a lively and entertaining manner.
