NBA player and local retailer to host event with six regional high school
basketball teams in partnership with Nike
What: Local urban retailer DTLR
(formerly Downtown Locker Room) and Nike have organized the second annual
“Caron Butler Basketball Classic” - a charity basketball tournament
with six regional high school basketball teams. Proceeds from the tournament
will benefit the Hoop Magic Education Foundation. The Hoop Magic Education
Foundation is a non-profit program established to help student athletes
with after school tutoring, development of learning skills, mentoring,
and assisting them with getting into college. It is based in Chantilly,
Va.
As part of DTLR’s ongoing community outreach in the Washington,
D.C. area, the retailer has gathered the unique talents and expertise
of Caron Butler and Nike for this annual basketball tournament that gives
back to student athletes.

the door as well as through the high schools competing in the basketball
