September 22, 2007 – The Curtis and Monica Malone Foundation hits the links for its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament Monday at noon. Curtis, Director of DC Assault (AAU), and his wife Monica's foundation many may presume, would be solely focused on hoops, as that organization is one of the preeminent young travel team groups in America. According to Curtis, its about much more. "Our foundation works with DC Assault obviously" said Curtis at the Crab City Fall Classic's first day of action yesterday, held at the University of Maryland's Comcast Center. "But it also is involved in things to help the community", like health related issues such as health challenges present in children at birth, and diabetes. Assault itself not only develops talented young ball players to receive scholarships, but plays an instrumental role in exposing colleges to them, while expanding the young people's minds; in the process of playing basketball, young players widen their world view. The tournament is being held at the Marlborough Golf Course Monday, September 25th, 2007. Start time is 12 noon. Those interested in participating should contact the club, as space is available. See you there. |
