March 14, 2007 – If you are the coach of a 13& under through 17 and under boys AAU/Travel team, or simply a fan of high school and college hoops, March 23-25 should be blocked on your calendar. Why you ask? That’s the time the DC Metro Showcase kicks off.

Hosted at the Hoop Magic Sports Academy (Chantilly, VA), a top of the line hoops/training facility, the Showcase will rank as one of the first AAU/travel events in the D.C. area this year, but don’t assume talented teams and players will be lacking as a result: In the 17 and under category alone, powerhouse teams such as Triple Threat, MD Hurricanes, and Crusader Nation have already pledged to participate, with more possibly joining them.

Hoops Magic is one of the best hoops/training facilities in the DelMarVa area. (Picture property of Hoop Magic)

The Showcase, organized by Nima Omidvar, guarantees participants not only four games, but also direct exposure to Division II and III level NCAA college coaches (Division I coach’s activities are statutorily truncated during this time period).

The benefit to high school student-athletes of this exposure is obvious, but it’s also good for younger kids, who see the process early, and therefore are able to prepare for it.

An all-star list for each age bracket will be generated, and published on recruiting sites (of course you will find it here on i95Ballerz.com). Division I coaches are sure to see that.

Come out and support not only the young people and coaches participating in the DC Metro Showcase, but Hoops Magic as well.

Hope to see you there!
