These 'Youngins' got it done.

August 21, 2010 – The DCA Summer Classic, held at the end of July convened players and college coaches to close the NCAA’s July open period; for specific periods of time Division I coaches could venture off campus to personally scout players.

The following schools were present: Fairfield, St. Johns, UMass, VCU, Longwood, Howard, American, Radford, Nebraska, Marshall, UMBC, Arizona, DePaul, George Mason, Mount St. Marys, St. Francis (PA), Delaware, Cincinnati, Duke, Robert Morris, Wilmington University, Citadel, Clemson, Harcum CC, Montgomery CC, Jacksonville, Cleveland State.

Triple Threat's John Savoy and Leonard Livingston block a shot.

Below are championship round standout players in the 15 and 16 under brackets.

16u Champs – Riptide (NC)

Shae Whitfield, sophomore forward, Riptide, 6’6”, 210 lbs – Mid-major schools in the Tar Heel state have taken notice of Whitfield, a talented young frontcourt player that can post and hit mid-range shots via solid moves.

Leonard Livingston, junior forward, Triple Threat, 6’8”, 190 lbs – A long armed shot blocker, Livingston is several pounds and increased strength away from shocking folks.

Kadeem Allen loves to make plays for others.

Kedeem Allen, junior guard, Riptide, 6’2”, 160 lbs – Allen is a player that loves to ball, and can pass, drive, shoot and jump. He simply must get stronger. Knows how to play. Is under-recruited.

Victor Blakey, junior point guard, Triple Threat, 5’9”, 155 lbs – A push man that is not afraid to strap defensively, Blakey has to develop his jumper.

Toajae Bailey, sophomore guard, Rip Tide, 5’9”, 160 lbs – Bailey is a shooter that mixes traditional lead guard duties into his repitoire. Must be more of that traditional point guard.

John Savoy, junior forward, Triple Threat, 6'7", 185 lbs - Savoy is starting to show he's a player to be reckoned with, as when he's motivated blocks shots and rebounds well. Offensive footwork and shot release must be improved.

15u Champs – DC Assault

Romelo Trimble, freshman swingman, DCA 6’3”, 170 lbs – Trimble has worked tirelessly on his handle, which dovetails nicely with his ability to score through contact. Must both strap defensively and shoot more consistently.

Romelo Trimble seems to impress everytime out.

Branden Boykins, sophomore guard, Finesse, 6’3”, 175 lbs – It looks as Boykins is moving slowly, but the guard has deceptive burst and uses change of pace moves to free himself. He can shoot, but must develop his left hand handle.

Ahmad Fields, sophomore swingman, DCA, 6’3”, 170 lbs – Possessing long arms and a good shooting range, Fields can also function solidly as a two guard. Needs to work on his off-hand and strength.

Branden Boykin has a multi-faceted game.

Harry Howerton, junior guard, Finesse, 5’11”, 160 lbs – Howerton, a lefty, can slash from the wings, drive and shoot spot up threes. Must become more of a point guard.
