April 9, 2008 - Donte Green, the 6'10" Baltimore, MD native now starring for Syracuse University has decided recently to test his professional basketball prospects by declaring for the National Basketball Association draft. According to a source close to the situation, Greene currently is protecting his NCAA eligiblity by not hiring an agent, thereby allowing himself the option of returning to school if his workouts with NBA teams do not secure a desirable draft status. As a Syracuse freshman this season, Greene led the Orange in scoring with 17.7 points per game, while also providing 7.2 rebounds and 2 assists each outing. Greene has shown a propensity to prowl the perimeter and sink long jumpshots, but presumably must illustrate to NBA franchies an ability/willingness to play physically around the rim, handle the ball and shoot efficiently, along with defending in man-to-man sets. Stay tuned for more information on this Charm City wunderkind - Greene will be a pro, the question is when.
