December 22, 2006 – Doug Davis, a 5’11” Philadelphia native has left the City of Brotherly love for more serene pastures – Princeton, New Jersey’s Hun School. The school’s coach, Jonathan Stone, is happy Davis made the move.

“He’s a kid that has fit in very well” said Stone, Hun School’s seventh year head coach of Davis, a junior. “He has adjusted very well, and is well motivated”.

The institution, which competes in the six school Mid-Atlantic Prep League, drew Davis, a junior, because of a unique mix offered students. “I think it’s the quality of our academics and academics” that attracted Davis, said Stone. “It’s a great education, and at the same time he can compete at greater level basketball wise”.

Though at the time of this interview Stone had only worked with Davis for about two weeks, he was thoroughly impressed with the young man’s game. “He’s a natural point guard” started Hun’s coach, who would later add “Offensively, he’s a complete package. He can penetrate, dish, and shoot. And he’s very unselfish”. On the defensive end of the floor, Davis is “very quick” and uses his “long arms” to great benefit.

While playing for Stone and his Hun Raiders, Doug will man both guard positions, while working on his “strength”, allowing him to get “physically tougher” said the coach.

Davis may be new to the Hun School, but he’s not so to recruiters. Stone indicated “Several Division I schools” have inquired about the young man, including “A-10 and Ivy League” schools. Some of those include Columbia, Howard, Duquesne, Albany, Fordham, William and Mary, Penn, and Delaware (who has shown interest longest).

Whatever school he chooses – an event Stone indicated will not occur “for a while” - is going to get an adaptable young man capable of running a team, and supplying competitiveness as well. “He understands what it takes, in life and basketball” said Stone.
