Locals Mix with National Players for Can't Miss Event
March 18, 2009 – A month from now American University's Bender Arena will be rocking with fans sending another bumper crop of high school seniors off to college, rooting for many in person for what is probably the last time. That's a prime beauty of post season all star events. It gets no better than April 18th's Reebok All American Game. According to a trusted source, the event is comprised of two games with DC/Baltimore players participating throughout.
Rodney McGruder is returning home for the Reebok All American game. It's structure includes a preliminary game in which local guys compete against a national team, while the headliner contest has local guys on both teams. Anyway you cut it, local players are destined to star. According to the source here is a brief snapshot of the players participating: Thomas Robinson (Kansas), Rodney McGruder (Kansas State), Terrell Vinson (undecided), Mo Creek (Indiana), Naji Hibbert (Texas A&M), Donte Taylor (Pitt), Isaiah Armwood (Villanova), Isaiah Philmore (Towson), Percy Woods (undecided), Ian Hummer (Princeton), Erik Murphy (Florida), John Jenkins (Vandy) and of course others. Game times are reportedly 5:30pm (preliminary) and 7:00 (main). Be sure to check i95Ballerz.com for all pertinent information, including cost, rosters and practice coverage.
