October 9, 2007 - R.C. Hatch (AL) senior guard Frankie Sullivan recently committed his services to play for head coach Jeff Lebo and the Auburn Tigers.

“I went over there for a visit and got a chance to play pick up ball with the guys and I absolutely loved it,” said Sullivan, who has led R.C. Hatch to back-to-back 2A Alabama state titles.

Sullivan toiled for the Alabama Lasers AAU team the past two summers and led them in scoring both times. Frankie has the ability to drain three-pointers, but thrives in the open court, where he can get to the cup with acrobatic finishes.

Frankie Sullivan (right), here guarding all-everything guard Tyreke Evans, is an athletic, SEC-level performer.

The 6’2 slashing guard has clearly worked on his jump shot over the last two seasons and it will be necessary once his prep career is over and he matriculates down on the plains. Sullivan’s shot selection can be an issue, but there is no denying his athletic ability, heart and desire to win. Those qualities will benefit him on the next level. Bottom line: The kid is a winner.

Schools such as UAB, Memphis, Florida and Tennessee all checked in for Sullivan, but Frankie decided that Auburn was the place for him.

“Coach Lebo is a great guy. He’s very funny and seems to be a players coach.”

Sullivan said he wanted to go where he could play immediately and Coach Jeff Lebo will make that happen.

“Auburn will give me a chance to compete early for a starting spot; that’s why I chose the Tigers over the other schools.”
