Hoop Magic Hosts Two Hoop Group Exposure Events

March 12, 2008 – Hoop Magic Sports Academy again partners with the Hoop Group, as the first class facility hosts two basketball exposure camps; the Northern Virginia Top 100 and Junior Elite events. For boys in grades 7-12, these confabs provide multiple benefits.

College coaches (Division II, III, and junior college), via the Northern Virginia Top 100 have an opportunity to evaluate players grades 10-12 up front and in person, while attendees will receive not only instruction, but valuable experience. March 15-16 are the dates, with hours of operation standing at 10:00am - 3:00 pm.

For younger boys in the 7th-9th grades, March 14th is the day for exposure and instruction, as that’s when the Junior Elite event takes place at Hoop Magic. Action starts at 5:30 pm, and extends through 10:00 pm.

Participation in either clinic will also afford campers a Hoop Group Top 100 ranking, in addition to recruiting service evaluation, - Bob Gibbon’s All-Star Report and Steve Keller of the National Recruiting Report will both be present.

Larmar Barrett, Hoop Group’s Director of Eastern Invitational is bullish on both events, as he recently shared “Top 100 clinics are a chance to gain some very good instruction, compete against some of the best players in the area and gain maximum exposure”.

Arize Ifejika, Hoop Magic’s Youth Event Director, thinks both confabs are beneficial: “I think it is a good opportunity to get some of the most ‘known-unknown’ young people the opportunity to get on the radar of college coaches, and to give unsigned (high school) seniors a chance to impress college coaches before they finish high school”.
