DC vs B'More is the focus of secondary game brought by clothing line.
July 27, 2010 - Those along the Parkway enjoy debating which locale, DC or Baltimore, is better in hoops. These discussions range the gamut from youth to pro hoops, with one side never conceding the other's position. August boasts another game that may provide ammo to either side of the debate. And that's the prelim, as professionals will take the floor afterwrad. Enter Hoop Planets' 2010 High School Basketball Challenge and Special Guest Pickup Game.
Scheduled for Saturday, August 14th at West Potomac High School (6500 Quander Lane, Alexandria, VA), two contests are on tap: First the DC vs Baltimore tilt, a high school matchup likely presenting the skills of Quinn Cook, Mikael Hopkins, Brandon Ford, Treveon Graham, Jordan Goodman and others. Charm City fans should see Nick Faust, Durand Johnson, Isaiah Miles, Greg Lewis and Aquille CArr strap up their basketball boots, along with additional guys. Then comes the headliner, the Special Guest Pickup Game, in which the likes of NBA ballers Sam Young, Ty Lawson, Kyle Weaver and Mike Beasley, plus international hooper Drew 'Spongebob' Washington, plus a slew of others, have committed to play. The contests are set for the afternoon - 3pm and 5pm. Email info@HoopPlanet.net or call either 202.421.6999 (Emillio) or 202.605.3273 (J.D.) for information. Advance tickets can be purchased online thru www.eventbrite.com or in person at Family and Friends (4143 Patterson Ave, B'More) or All Things 'n Common (6153 Livingston Road, Oxon Hill, MD).
