A brain child of Don Bosco Cristo Rey Director of Athletics and Head Boy’s Basketball Coach, Frank Simpson, the tournament’s purpose is to provide independent schools’ basketball teams an opportunity to play in a legitimate and respected playoff, provide additional opportunities for colleges to recruit players from tournament teams, and finally settle the score between who is truly best in DC Basketball. With so many great teams in the DC area like DeMatha, Montrose, Gonzaga, Springbrook, Gywn Park, Potomac (MD), Ballou, and others, the hope is to one day have a city wide, season ending, invitational of 64 that will truly decide who is best in the DC area regardless of league affiliation. To obtain tickets you can visit any of the participating schools or call Tournament organizers Frank Simpson 202-361-3989 (simpsonf@dbcr.org) or Kevin Wills 202-425-8587 (total_basketball@yahoo.com).
