Louisville's possible loss could be some other school's acute gain
April 27, 2009 – Huntsville, Alabama native Joshua Langford has proven he is one of the top young forwards in the country; he’s consistently ranked amongst the top 100 players (2010) in the nation by several recruiting services. After committing to Louisville last summer, Langford has begun to the re-think his options and has decided to open the process back up to other schools. “I still like Louisville, but I’ve decided to open it back up and listen to other schools also”, remarked Langford.
Josh Langford may not attend Louisville in 2010. Possessing superior athleticism and a knack for attacking the basket, the rising senior is still transforming himself from an interior presence into a more perimeter threat. High major programs USC, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Penn State, Memphis, Stanford, UAB and Tulane have all been showing Joshua love. “I like all of those programs, so I’m going to take my time before I sign.” The 6-foot-6, 2010 forward continues to improve his game; going from a raw athlete to a legitimate three-man capable of taking his man off the dribble, attacking the baseline and stroking the jumper out to the three-point line. “I think I played pretty well this season, but we didn’t reach our goal of winning a state championship, so that was a disappointment,” said Langford. Despite defeating arch rival and 5A champion Butler High twice, Langford’s Johnson High team largely inconsistent and failed to qualify for the playoffs. “There are some things I still need to improve, both on and off the court, so I just want to keep working and getting better. That’s what I’m focusing on right now. When the time is right I’ll make a decision.”
