Fabled league offers playoff action Thursday-Sunday

August 12, 2009 - The Jabbo Kenner League, 2009 edition, winds down this week, with the last day of regular season action today, and playoffs proceeding tomorrow through Sunday. For summer basketball fans, it's Christmas in August, as pros and collegians do battle at Georgetown's McDonough Arena.

Today's games begin at 7:15p and 8:25 pm. Playoff action starts with quarterfinals Thursday and Friday, 7:15p and 8:25p each day. The semis are set for Saturday, 1p and 2:15p, while the 'chip' is settled Sunday at 2p.

The We Are One team, there are eight Kenner entries, is the number one seated squad. Adding to the drama today is the fact DCX and Clyde's are battling for second place, going into the championship tourney.

As with all summer leagues, rosters can be somewhat fluid, but what follows is an attempt to identify players of note and/or those recognized on each team. Use it as a primer, something that provides a basic understanding. Apologies go out to all omitted.
