Malcolm Lemmons will attend school in Pennsylvania, doning Colonial silks in the process.

October 15, 2009 - Today was a big day for Malcolm Lemmons, as the 6'4" swingman decided Robert Morris would be best him, leading him to commit to that school. His high school coach, Gonzaga's (DC) Steve Turner shared Malcolm's motivation this evening.

"It was a combination of things" said Turner via telephone. "It's an opportunity to go and play, and a good quality education. I think he really thought Coach (Mike) Rice would be a good guy to develop him for the future...and it's a place where he can win, contend for a championship and get to the NCAA Tournament in four years".

Malcolm Lemmons (with ball), loves to attack the tin.

Lemmons is a slasher/finisher of significant note, one Turner indicated can "attack the basket, defend and rebound". In terms of outside shooting - a point of development for Malcolm - Turner noted "He's a much improved shooter. He worked on his midrange as well as shooting out to the three point land".

Last season, Lemmons dropped 9.8 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals per game, a statline that illustrates a propensity to stuff the stat sheet. As reported on i95Ballerz.com, previously the likes of "Bucknell, Boston University, Vermont, Long Island University, Brown and others" valued Malcolm enough to offer him a scholarship.

Turner's not surprised at Lemmons' development, saying "He's self made. Malcolm is a kid that's a hard worker. He's not willing to settle...Malcolm has worked on his strength by getting into the weight room, has worked hard on his shooting by getting getting into the gym. He's a gym rat".

Congrats go out to Malcolm Lemmons and his family, as through ability, work and focus, he will be at Robert Morris and in the Northeast Conference next year.
