March 17, 2009 - The Maryland Boys Final Four Tournament once again thrilled on-lookers, as many players destined for higher levels of hoops participated. To that end, i95Ballerz.com in conjunction with the SportsGroove, a radio show hosted by Mark Gray and aired Monday - Friday, 7pm - 10pm, on WOL 1450 AM (www.wolam.com), presents All-Tourney squads. These teams are comprised of players competing at the 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A levels.

MVP - Jamal Olasewere- The 6’5” forward was the most dominant player in all classifications, leading Springbrook to the 4A championship. An athletic, competitive player who is developing his skill set, his play caused college coaches including Georgetown’s John Thompson III to take another look.

MOP - Will Barton, junior - Barton in short did it all, helping lead Lake Clifton to the 2A title. Already a hotly recruited student-athlete, his tourney performance did nothing but establish his bonafides further.

First Team

Roscoe Smith, junior - Standing 6’7”, Smith showed some versatility as he didn’t score as usual, but did rebound and block shots for Walbrook. Is one of the most coveted recruits on the East Coast.

Antonio Barton, junior - A 6’2” point guard that can score, Barton directed the show for Lake Clifton. His recruitment is jumping off with Seton Hall, Temple, LaSalle, Maryland and others interested.

George Jackson, senior -If you want a bucket, turn to Jackson, who led Digital Harbor to the 1A title. Schools are all over him; Coppin State, Loyola, South Carolina State - which have offered - while Tulsa and Nebraska are interested in this 5’11” combo guard.

Battle (blue) competes with second teamer David Golladay for position.

Stephan Battle, junior - Thomas Stone’s go to man, this 6’4” forward can face up, drive or post. His versatility has George Mason and St. Francis (PA) interested.

Jason Sharp, senior - If you need a perimeter shot, Sharp is your man. He’s headed to prep school, where the likes of Seton Hall and VCU will continue to show interest.

Second Team

David Golladay, senior - Headed to Mount St. Mary’s next year, expect David to continue his slashing, defending play. Was Wise’s leader this year as a swingman.

Kendal Smith, junior - Another multi-skilled player at Thomas Stone, Mid majors such as St. Francis and George Mason are scouting this forward.

Brandon Davis, senior - A multi-skilled, tough, 6’4” forward for Springbrook, Davis would do well at a low DI or D2 program.

Donte Stuckey, senior - Stuckey, standing around 6’3” loves getting to the rim, and does so relentlessly. He’ll likely attend junior college next year, where swingman will be his position. Is graduating from Walbrook.

Maurice Johnson, senior - Listed at 6’4”, Johnson is a do-it-all forward that just grinds for City College.

Denzel Walker, junior, - An offensively aggressive point guard, Walker fears no one. Mid-majors are interested.

Phil Wood, senior - As a 6’3” combo guard, Wise's Wood likes to attack the rim in open floor situations. Central Conn. State, Quinnipiac and Radford are all interested.

Third Team

Mike Bullock, sophomore - A fire plug, 5’11” point guard that can score, Bullock is a player that will continue to get looks as he matures at Seneca Valley

Jordan Lathan, junior - Committed to Xavier, Lathan always makes a play that makes you say wow. Attends City College.

Sebastian Sturgis, senior - Sturgis, though up front at 6’4” can flat out get it. Will graduate from Pocomoke.

Timmone Whatley with Douglass' coach, Tyrone Massenburg.

Justin Jackson, junior - The younger Jackson brother is a guard that’s to be reckoned with for Digital Harbor

Timmone Whatley, sophomore - Aggressive, 6’2” Douglass guard likes to attack the rim.

Jordan Goodman, sophomore - Standing around 6’8”, Goodman likes to patrol the perimeter for Seneca Valley. Though not physical, he will block shots off the weak side.
