Though not first or second teamers, these players still displayed considerable talent and upside in NHSI play. April 17, 2010 - Yesterday's release of NHSI first and second team all star units - developed by i95Ballerz.com independent of the National High School Invitational braintrust - created significant interest. Hopefully the third and fourth crews will do the same. Third Team Nick Johnson, 6’3” junior uncommitted guard, Findlay Prep (NV) – When watching Johnson play, one help rhinking this kid’s best ball is in front of him, as he’s strong, loves to drive, and will strap up defensively. His jumper is a work in progress, but reportedly has improved. Baye Keita, 6’11” senior center committed to Syracuse, Oak Hill Academy (VA) – A shot blocking maniac, Keita needs to develop better offensive footwork and shooting touch.
Nick Johnson off the bounce. Eric Smith, 6’1” senior point guard committed to South Carolina, Christ School (NC) – Smith is a guy who may not jump out at you, but helps wins ball games with steady play at the helm, including defending foes and finding teammates for shots. Justin Anderson, 6’6” sophomore uncommitted forward, Montrose Christian (MD) – Hyper athletic and loving to finish, Anderson must develop greater shooting and ball handling skill. Anthony Bennett, 6’7” sophomore uncommitted forward, Mountain State (WV) – Bennett has the tools – size, athletic ability, quickness – to be an impact player in college. Fourth Team Obij Aget, 7’0” sophomore uncommitted forward, Mountain State (WV) – Shot blocker with burgeoning upside. Anthony Gill, 6’8” junior forward committed to South Carolina, Charlotte Christian (NC) – A generalist that makes plays. Remi Dibo, 6’8” senior uncommitted senior forward, Mountain State (WV) – A sleeper that can shoot, rebound and attack the rim.
Reynolds Maharajh scores with the left.
Reynolds Maharajh, 6’1” senior uncommitted point guard, Charlotte Christian (NC) – Heady and tough, Reynolds will both attack the rim and shoot jumpers, while also finding teammates for scores. D3’s are on him. He’s a steal. Click here for NHSI Finals coverage Click here for NHSI Semis coverage
