DC Assault Brings Top Talent and Teams

Top teams converge on Wise HS (MD) for DC high school showcase event.

February 7, 2010 - Long known as one of the strongest travel teams outfits in America, DC Assault has also ventured into high school hoops showcases. Their latest is the Presidential Hoopfest.

Scheduled for February 19th at Wise High School (Upper Marlboro, MD) Presidential Hoopfest will offer fans and coaches an opportunity to see some of the best high school teams and players match up. The schedule follows:

3p Princeton Day (MD) vs Our Savior (NY)

430p Riverdale Baptist (MD) vs. Blueridge (VA)

6p O'Connell (VA) vs Lincoln (NY)

730p Oak Hill (VA) vs Arlington Country Day (FL)

Quinn Cook returns to the DC area this month.

Talent wise, the likes of Chris Thomas(Princeton Day), Lincoln's Kamari Murphy, Jordan Dickerson and Isaiah Whitehead, Riverdale Baptist's Keon Hill and Brandon Peel, plus Remello Trimble, Will Ferguson and Larry Savage - a trio of O'Connell students - are on tap. Others will also participate, including a pair of DC Assault alumni, Oak Hill's Quinn Cook and ACD's Jordan Goodman.

Why did DCA put together such a blockbuster lineup of games?

"The reason we decided to start the Presidential Hoopfest was to give the many basketball fans in Maryland a chance to watch some of the best teams on the East coast compete" shared Damon Handon, DCA's Director of Basketball Operations.

Handon went on to note the Goodman - Cook meeting as especially special, given the pair competed together on Assault's Gold team last summer.

The cost for these four games is a mere $10. Tickets are available at the door.

Make sure you visit the first Presidential Hoopfest. Opportunities such as this, to see the 12th (Oak Hill), 17th (ACD) and 21st (Lincoln) ranked teams nationally, are few and far between.
