Players scrimmage halfcourt for contest today.

 

April 18, 2009 - Yesterday, participants in today's Reebok All American Game enjoyed some of the sights and scenes the Washington, DC area has to offer, while also scrimmaging in preparation for today's tilt. Those present at American University's Bender Arena this evening, beginning at 5:30pm should be thoroughly entertained.

During a two hour practice the players, all graduating high school seniors, were split amongst two courts, and scrimmaged halfcourt to three. Sources present indicated Rodney McGruder, Thomas Robinson, Dante Taylor, Junior Cadougan and Naji Hibbert all distinguished themselves in one section. The other group saw Mfon Udofia, Joe Burton, Tim Frazier, Mo Creek and Terrell Vinson standout.

After hooping and resting, the contingent headed to DC's ESPN Zone, where they ate and played the games that establishment offers. Afterward, it was back to back to the Westin Hotel for relaxation. Some even then got haircuts.

Today the group ate breakfast before touring some of D.C.'s historic sites.

Interested in seeing these stars of tomorrow compete? The event events second and final game commences around 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10.00, and as previously noted youth hoops teams can receive up to 12 pairs of basketball shoes by simply attending with at least seven players.
