Event jumps off at Howard University

 

 

October 20, 2010 – Saturday morning, hoopers from various walks will mix with entertainers and newsmen for the Get Up, Get Involved, Get Healthy walk-a-thon. The cause is child obestity.

In addition to the walking event, which has levels ranging between one and three miles based on participants fitness levels, a charity basketball game will occur as well, pitting D.C. area media outlets.

It's still time to help us fight childhood obesity and join us for the 1st annual "Get Up, Get Involved, Healthy Living Fitness Fest. We need businesses, agencies, corporations, churches and other to come out and participate in our walk-a-thon corporate challenge. The group that registers the most team members will receive special recognition during and after the event. Meet-n-greet personalities from Fox 5 news, WPGC radio station and former NBA & NFL stars. Participate in the Gold's Gym fitness stations or test your skills in the double dutch skills test.
