December 6, 2011 - Following are players that made the Sidwell Friends Invitational, as independently compiled by i95Ballerz.com. Knowledgeable observers were consulted.

First Team

MVP - Justin Alston, 6'8", 235 lb center, Archbishop Carroll (DC), '12 - Carried Carroll to through the championship game, with back to the basket moves and stick backs. Needs to polish his offensive game, including offensive footwork. Blocked a good number of shots. Is headed to Boston University

MOP - Josh Hart, 6'3", 205 lb swingman, Sidwell Friends (DC), '13 - Simply the most exciting player competing, Hart attacked the rim and hit mid to long range shots. Must compete all the time, commensurate with his athletic ability. Georgetown and NC State have offered, while the likes of Xavier are warming up to him.

Justin Alston throws one down.

Langston Burnette, 6'4", 210 lb swingman, Palotti (MD), '12 - The likes of Del State, Bowie State, Delaware, William and Mary, Loyola, Elizabeth City State and other CIAA schools are all over Langston, a multi-faceted swingman that is strong who must get more shifty with the ball.

Cedrick McFadden, 5'9", 155 lb point guard, Wilson (DC), '12 - McFadden is a competitor that makes it happen for Wilson, usually driving and making a decision. Possesses a nice floater he releases with success. Is a leader. Must work on his athletic ability (by getting stronger). According to his high school coach Va Union has offered, as has College of Charleston. VCU has expressed interest.

Demitri Gaither, 6'2", 180 lb swingman, Wilson (DC), '12 - Currently pretty much unrecruited, Gaither is undersized but excels in facing and attacking. Must be more of a guard in college, which means stop and pops and ball handling have to be improved. Is tough.

Second Team

Jamal Lewis, 6'1", 180 lb point guard, Sidwell Friends (DC), '12 - Though he had early troubles, Lewis bounced back to play well for the host school. Can drive and shoot - is multifaceted. Needs to focus on dominating at one aspect of the game. Headed to Penn.

Everette Quick, 6'2", 180 lb guard, Teddy Roosevelt (DC), '13 - A lefty that makes subtle plays, Quick must start to use his right more often. Also has to play quicker. Howard, NC Central and others are interested.

Raphael Jennings - 5'11", 170 lb guard, Carroll (DC), '12 - Jennings is a guard that is transitioning to running a team, with good success. Can shoot the baseline jumper or drive. Needs to finish better, get stronger, and be more consistent.

Riyan Williams - 6'2", 160 lb swingman, Carroll (DC), '12 - Williams is a streaky shooter that when hot, tickles the twine. Has solid half court attack handle, but at times goes sideways too much with fancy patting. Can slash. Needs to get stronger.

Raymond Spencer - 6'2", 185 lb forward, Carroll (DC), '12 - Spencer is undersized for a front court guy, but tough and aggressive. Is a 'wildcard', in that he may take the ball to the cup in traffic, or pull up. Must work on ball handling, long distance shooting and decision making.
