Take Your Best Shot, DC Assault's annual tournament is here this month weekend.

April 30, 2010 – In its third year of operation, DC Assault’s Take Your Best Shot is right around the corner, again providing the DMV with great travel team hoops action. May 15th – 17th, the event will function with a new twist.

“Unlike the previous two years, the games are going to be played in PG (County, MD)” said Assault’s Director of Basketball Operations recently of the TYBS’s venues. “The games will be played at Douglass, Central, Riverdale and Largo” high schools.

Quinn Cook will certainly attack the rim during this year's TYBS.

“This is the second time Assault has played there in more than 10 years. The good thing about it, we are having a tourney in PG County where most of our kids live”.

According to Handon, organizations such as “Team Melo (MD), Riverside Hawks (NJ), NJ Playaz, and the Atlanta Celtics, just to name few” will send teams to compete.

Opportunities to compete exist. Interested teams competing in 15-under through 17-under competition must register by May 11th, the cost is $400 and all teams are guaranteed three games. See www. dcassultinc.com for all details.

“It’s going to be a good weekend of basketball” said Handon of the tourney, who then noted “We have the Washington Post Player of the Year (Quinn Cook), Kevin Ware head to Tennessee, of course all our players, and many others”. Some of those DCA guys include Jordan Goodman, Jamal Lewis, Nate Britt III, Jerome Seagears, Kris Jenkins, and Ibrihima Dijinde.

It’s a good opportunity for good competition or ‘bump’, and allows fans/observers to see many of the players they track and to root for up close and in person.
