Schedule Set for First Annual VA Hoopfest

New H.S. Basketball Event Takes Off December 8 in Northern Virginia

Washington, D.C. (November 5, 2012) - The VA Hoopfest announced this week that it has finalized the schedule and match-ups for its first annual showcase. It will be played on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Potomac High School in Dumfries, VA.

Calvin Butts, Jr. has put in major work.

The Hoopfest will commence at 5:00pm with the contest between Genesis Academy (Lynchburg, VA) and Middleburg Academy (VA), followed by T.C.
Williams (Alexandria, VA) against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD) at 6:30pm and Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, VA) versus host school Potomac at 8:00pm.

Several Division 1 prospects will be in attendance, such as 6'0 junior guard Romelo Trimble (O'Connell), 6'0 junior guard Byron Hawkins (Good Counsel), 6'6 sophomore forward Leroy Butts (O'Connell) and 5'11 freshman guard Anthony Cowan (Good Counsel). Trimble is ranked #60 in
the nation by Rivals.com. Hoop Scoop ranks Butts #73 in the class of 2015, while Cowan is ranked #75 in the class of 2016.

Potomac is led by 6'4 junior guard Randy Haynes and 6'8 junior forward Trey Porter, while 6'5 senior forward Landon Moss leads T.C. Williams.

Tickets will be available at the door the day of the game. Admission will be $10, but will be free for children under the age of seven.
