July 6, 2008 - It took a while to compile, but the VA
Invitational's All-Star listing is here. There should be no wonder
the list was delayed in being published, as Nima Omidvar's humoungous
(over 140 teams) tourney was played at various sites in Northern Virginia,
demanding of course a meeting of the minds amongst event staff.
Nevertheless, here it is. Though age groups 11-17 participated, the 16's
and 17's are the only classifications to be assigned all-tourney squads.
Driving that decision is of course college recruitment, a prime reason
for holding the tournament.
"These lists were already emailed out to every college coach in
the country" said Omidvar recently of his efforts to help young people
secure college scholarships. "From D1,D2, and D3, along with each
coaches phone number in the tournament".
