Univ. of MD and Montrose Christian (MD) standout scheduled to workout for and visit with Wizards brass.

May 21, 2009– Grevis Vasquez, the 6'5" junior guard who led the University of Maryland in all major categories - scoring (18.5 points) rebounds (5.4), assists (5.0) and minutes (34.6), and if emotional play could be quantified that too - is scheduled to work out for the Washington Wizards this morning. The session includes drills as well as dialogue with team officials, and will occur at the Verizon Center.

Vasquez is reported to be assessing the interest of National Basketball Association teams regarding this year's draft, but has not hired an agent, thereby allowing him to return to College Park for his senior year. Also, the team's coach, Gary Williams, supports Grevis' efforts.

Similar media sources have also indicated Vasquez, a native of Caracas, Venezuela is not interested in leaving Maryland early for European league basketball, a possibility rumored to exist last fall.

(Note: Kentucky's Jody Meeks will also likely join the session).
