Wally Judge Shares a Few Thoughts.
May 25, 2010 – This year's Take Your Best Shot travel team tourney proved an opportunity to engage in and witness good 'bump' or competition for players, coaches and observers alike. DC Assault, one of the more storied travel teams organizations in the business should be applauded for hosting TYBS. The event also acted as a homecoming of sorts for DC Assault alumni; the likes of Duke's Nolan Smith, returning to PG County, MD for a spell dropped by, as did a pair of Kansas State Wildcats, Rodney McGruder and Wally Judge.
Judge (black jacket) laughs with future college players Daryl Traynham (left of Judge) and Tyler Thornton (right of Judge, headed to Duke). The trio are DC Assault alumni. Being both freshman, the latter two were tasked with making the difficult adjustment not only to college life, but Big 12 basketball specifically and college hoops generally. To their credit, the DC area was well represented by the McGruder-Judge tandem. Judge, who dropped 3.3 points and over three boards per game in 36 games, and trended upwards as the season bore on. K-State should expect big things from Wally in 2010-2011. During a break in TYBS action, Judge sat down for an exclusive interview, commenting on subjects such as acclimation to college on and off the floor, his freshman campaign, teammates from the DC area and his own development.
