October 26, 2007 – The Washington Shock, a traveling youth basketball organization, will soon have tryouts for both their 16u and 17u/Unlimited teams. Young men who make the teams will be afforded the opportunity to travel and compete on a national level, next spring and summer. According to one of the Shock’s coaches, Anthony Murray, the organization’s staff “is trying to get an idea of what the team will look like while they plan for next year”. Accordingly, “These tryouts are open to all skill level kids” as they “believe in giving everyone a chance to prove themselves”. The first session is Sunday, October 28th, while the second occurs November 4th. On both dates, players interested in playing 16 and under ball (typically young guys who will be rising juniors and younger next spring/summer) should be ready to compete at 5pm, while the 17 and under/Unlimited players (generally rising seniors and very talented younger players next spring/summer or young guys who have graduated from high school but not signed a letter of intent) need to be ready to go at 6:30pm. The address for both days’ sessions is East County Community Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring, MD 20904. Questions can be fielded by Coach Lee – 240.413.0974 - or Coach Murray – 240.876.4233. All young men, willing to work and improve, in a team-focused environment are invited to attend. Don’t doubt yourself; come and down and show your skills. Doing
so could be the start of something special.
